OA/ITSD Employee, Debbie Briedwell, Provides the Necessary Support Services when Needed
The first three months of 2012 were very stormy – literally, for Geographic Information Specialist Debbie Briedwell. There were tornadoes in Branson and flooding in many areas of the state due to heavy rainfall. Debbie’s job with the Information Technology Services Division/Office of Geographic Information (ITSD-OGI) requires her to staff the State Emergence Operations Center (SEOC) during its activation. She does so with dedication and a “Whatever it takes to get the job done!” attitude.
Her eager-to-help attitude carries over into everything she does. Along with geographic storms, Debbie also provides legislative redistricting-related support pertaining to the state redistricting efforts. Because of short-fused deadlines, Debbie provided updates to the redistricting website during all hours of the night, and in many cases, into the early morning. When a request came in from the Redistricting Office for an immediate change, Debbie was quick to respond and provided the needed assistance without hesitation.
“I am thankful to work in a position where my skills can help others during times of need,” said Debbie of her work.
In addition to being nominated for the Spotlight, Debbie is her agency’s April Employee of the Month. She resides in Columbia with her two children: Andrew and Stephanie. In her personal time, she enjoys home remodeling and being outdoors.
